Artificial Intelligence and Training

In general, when we think about the concept of “Artificial Intelligence” what immediately comes to mind is a scenario in which robots and technology deal with the needs and necessities of the individuals, improving and facilitating their daily life.

In recent years, one area where artificial intelligence is taking hold is training.

In this sector, AI provides endless and advantageous possibilities for development and empowerment.

Nowadays , Artificial intelligence has the potential to modify the learning processes.

The use of AI requires a combination of algorithms that is based on deep learning and machine learning, and in the coming years the learning method will be transformed and enhanced.

Artificial intelligence uses a model, called Recommender System, which generates training paths. Recommeder Systems are software systems aimed at quantifying the interest of a user on  a certain area or object, with the aim of recommending what is most suitable for that user.

This kind of software generates great benefits in e-commerce, for instance. The suggestions, according to needs and interests, are the result of numerous calculations and algorithms and data collected.

But what does the Reccommender System have to do with training?

Reccommender systema are able to evaluate users and suggest the most suitable products; in the same way it is able to associate with an individual a specific personalized educational program.

When it comes to training, it is also inevitable to think about school learning; in this area, Artificial Intelligence can support, assist and collaborate with students and teachers.

Artificial Intelligence can provide school education with a considerable set of tools, aimed at optimizing performance, but not only.

A recent study found that many time-consuming activities carried out by teachers could be automated . Thanks to AI, teachers will be able to use the saved time to carry out different activities with students.

AI has the ability to suggest content, give immediate feedback and correct a test, chatbots can answer a vast amount of questions and become a sort of “virtual teacher”, while algorithms can even predict the odds of dropping out of school in order to prevent it.

By creating intelligent systems and paths for students with different levels, it will be possible to generate different courses based on the speed of learning. Machine learning will even be able to predict the probability of success on an exam!

A series of researches found that artificial intelligence could be used by students to evaluate their progress, but also by teachers for more fruitful teaching.

In the field of training, it is important not to forget company training.

Increasingly, companies are relying on AI for employee training.

Virtual Coaches guide workers in their activities, becoming increasingly specific and intelligent; AI also allows them to identify the main gaps of employees, predicting, through machine learning, their degree of preparation and their probabilities of success in a specific area.

In conclusion, AI is playing an important role in this sector, and in the coming years we will be able to better leverage, thanks to machine learning and the ability of algorithms, individual potential.
